CHEP Named Top Green Provider By Food Logistics Magazine

ATLANTA – June 24, 2014 – CHEP USA, a leading provider of managed pallet pooling solutions, was named a 2014 “Top Green Provider” by Food Logistics Magazine. This is the seventh consecutive year CHEP has been named to the publication’s Top Green Providers list, which recognizes companies whose product, service, or exemplary leadership enhances sustainability within the food and beverage industry.

“CHEP is honored to be included in this list once again in 2014,” said Matthew Harris, Manager, Sustainability, CHEP USA. “Receiving this acknowledgement from Food Logistics is a testament to our fundamental commitment to sustainability throughout our organization and the relationships we’ve established with world-class manufacturers and retailers, third-party providers, and suppliers.

“We believe our focus on sustainability will continue to drive improvements throughout the entire supply chain including the optimization of end-to-end operational efficiencies, and an overall improvement in our environment,” Harris added.

CHEP has committed to five-year targets that will minimize environmental impacts, including: 

  • Reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions by 20% from a 2010 baseline;
  • Source 100% of lumber for CHEP USA wooden pallets from certified sources by 2015;
  • Send zero lumber waste to landfill by 2015; and
  • Secure year-over-year reductions in water consumption and waste generation.
